Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

Tagagawa is a marketplace connecting skilled trade workers with employers in the Philippines. It is operated by Cambridge Engineering Solutions, which is the personal information controller for the data described in this notice.

You can reach us about anything in this notice at privacy@tagagawa.com. This address reaches the person responsible for data protection at Tagagawa.

2. What we collect

When you create an account: your email address and a password. We never store your password itself, only a one-way bcrypt hash, which cannot be reversed back into your password.

If you are a worker, your profile holds your full name, trade, headline and bio, years of experience, skills with proficiency levels, city and approximate coordinates, how far you are willing to travel, your availability, and your expected daily rate. You may also add certificates, training records, employment history, education, and photos of past work.

If you are an employer, we hold your company name, industry, company size, description, and the job posts you create.

Information other people provide about you. Employers can leave ratings and written reviews, and members can complete ratings, structured assessments of your skill, reliability, communication, integrity, attendance, professionalism, safety awareness, teamwork and leadership. These are written by other people and, once approved, are visible on your profile.

Activity: jobs you apply to or save, workers you save, when you last signed in, and security records of your active sessions.

3. Why we use it

• To match workers with jobs. Your skills, location, experience, availability and expected rate are scored against each job's requirements to produce a match percentage.
• To calculate your Trust score from verified work history (completed jobs, ratings, repeat employers and approved ratings) and, to a lesser extent, community activity.
• To let employers find you, and to let you find and apply to jobs.
• To verify your email address, keep your account secure, and let you reset your password.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who can see it

Visible to employers using Tagagawa: your name, trade, headline, bio, skills, city, years of experience, availability, expected rate, verification status, ratings, Trust score, and approved ratings.

Never shown to other users: your password, your password hash, your exact street address, and your email address. Our member directory search deliberately matches on name and trade only, never on email, so it cannot be used to discover whether a given address has an account.

Service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Neon, our database, hosted in Singapore (ap-southeast-1)
• Render, application hosting, currently in the United States (Oregon)
• Resend, delivery of our emails, processed in Japan (ap-northeast-1)

This means your information is transferred outside the Philippines. We remain accountable for it under RA 10173 wherever it is processed.

5. Your rights

Under RA 10173 you have the right to:

• Be informed about how your data is processed
• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct anything inaccurate, you can edit most of it from your profile
• Object to processing, and withdraw your consent at any time
• Have your data erased or blocked in the circumstances the law allows
• Be compensated for damages caused by a violation of your rights
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

Withdrawing consent means we can no longer keep your profile visible, so it closes your account. It does not undo work already completed through the platform.

Two of these you can exercise yourself, immediately, from your account settings:

• Download your data, everything we hold about you, as a file you keep.
• Close your account, this both withdraws your consent and erases your personal information.

Being precise about what closing an account does, because the difference matters: your email address, password, phone number, name, photos and everything you wrote about yourself are erased. What remains is the fact that a job or application existed, and any reviews or ratings you gave to other people, with your name removed. Those belong to their records, and one person's erasure cannot be allowed to rewrite somebody else's history. Nothing that is kept identifies you.

For anything else, email privacy@tagagawa.com. Tell us which right you are exercising and the email address on your account. We will respond within 15 working days. If we need longer (for example, where a request affects ratings written by other members) we will tell you why and when to expect an answer.

You do not have to give a reason for withdrawing consent or asking for erasure.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your profile for as long as your account is open. When you close it, we mark your records deleted so they stop appearing anywhere on the platform, then remove them permanently after a short recovery window in case the closure was a mistake.

Ratings and reviews are treated differently, because they contain another person's statements as well as information about you. When your account closes, they stop being publicly visible along with your profile.

Security records, such as sign-in sessions, are kept only as long as they are active, and are revoked immediately when you log out or reset your password.

The exact length of the recovery window, and any records we are separately required by law to keep, will be stated here once set.

7. How we protect it

Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes. Email confirmation and password reset links are stored as one-way hashes, expire, and can be used only once, so a copy of our database contains nothing clickable. Completing a password reset signs out every device. All traffic uses HTTPS.

8. Changes to this notice

Each version of this notice is numbered, and we record which version you agreed to and when. If we change it in a way that affects what you agreed to, we will ask for your consent again rather than assuming your earlier agreement covers it.
